I have been hearing a lot of good things about Top Ramen recently and I am stoked about these saucy flat noodles! Sounds so sexy! Or is it just me?!
- Boil 2 teacups of water (260ml). Add the Top Ramen Flat Noodles to the boiling water. Cook for 1 minute. Stir well.
- Add Taste Mix. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes. Allow some gravy to remain.
Isn’t 220ml of water a little less for “curry” noodles?!
Wow! Look at this block of flat noodles.
There is a single sachet of seasoning powder and un good quantity. Like always I tried to take a whiff of it to know what I should be expecting but I am at a loss this time. It just has a scary spicy aroma. That’s it. That’s all I could figure.
Firstly, and sadly, there is no “curry” to these Top Ramen Curry noodles. And secondly, these are barely “saucy”. I hate misleading names! I was in the mood for some curried flat noodles and now here I am with a bowl of barely saucy flat noods.
But to be fair, I like the texture of these flat noodles. Not too crumbly and they have a good chew to them.
As far as the taste goes, it’s okayish. At least Nissin was smart enough to not mention any flavor on the pack because it is very difficult to pin point what flavor this is. Hmm. Cheeky.
I had jumped the gun and prepared some sautéed chunky mushrooms while the noods were cooking because I was expecting a bowl of curry noodles and these mushrooms would have been perfect to dunk in that!
Anyways. Here is how to prepare these super simple and delicious mushrooms – take some butter in a small pan, add the mushrooms, black pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Cover the pan and let them cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove the lid, add some salt and let the water dry. Simplest way to make the yummiest shrooms!
The mushrooms do make me like these noods better though.
